This 12 days Kenya – Uganda Adventure Safari starts in Nairobi and ends in Entebbe . ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival at Nairobi International Airport

Meet and greet at Nairobi International Airport where your Kenya – Uganda Adventure Safari starts by our representative who will warmly welcome you and facilitate seamless arrival formalities. You will then be transferred to your hotel where you will be briefed about your adventure safari.

Day 2: Nairobi - Masai Mara

Pickup is as early as 8 am depending on the location of your hotel. There after depart for Masai Mara with the first stop at the Great Rift Valley View Point. This is a perfect place to be in the early morning and evening. You will watch enthralling Rift valley with its vast vegetation and the sun rays kissing the far and wide stretching mountains in the surrounding. The Great Rift Valley has been reckoned as a wonder of the world stretching from the Middle East passing through Africa and has a great and vast chunk in East African part and ends in Mozambique in the South. After about 15-20min of getting history you will proceed to Narok. Narok is a town west of Nairobi that supports Kenya’s economy in south-west of the country, along the Great Rift Valley. Narok is the district capital of the Narok County and stands as the major center of commerce in the district. Narok has a population of around 40,000 people, mostly Masai.

The Masai, natives of Narok district, refer to Narok as Enkare Narok (meaning black water or dark water) named after, Enkare Narok, the river flowing through Narok town. The elevation of Narok is 1827 meters (5,997 feet) in altitude. You will have your hot lunch here and there after proceed to Masai Mara, on arrival you will be received by our Masai Mara Staffs and then assist you to check in the lodge, leave for the late afternoon game drive which starts immediately upon your arrival, this game drive offers you the 1st day 1 evening big 5 kill as well as Africa Sunset around 1830hrs, then our driver will drive you back to the lodge where you will be served with Africa food in the Lodge:

Day 3: Masai Mara Game Reserve Full Day

Masai Mara is situated in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular Eco-Systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing Eco-System. I am sure you have heard the wildebeest migration is nothing short of amazing. It is one of the things you have do add to your bucket list.

This will be the full day explore the Masai Mara, breakfast will be served as early as 07:30am, then our cook will pack for you fresh picnic lunch since the whole day will be exploring the Masai Mara famous 7th wonders of the World. This game reserve is Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year round. The Mara’s gentle fertile climate bounded by The Rift, offers perhaps the richest stocked reserve set within some 1672 sq km – an unlimited spectacle of wildlife. Located 268 km west of Nairobi, the emphasis here is on game. Herds of immense Elephants, browse among Lion, Buffalo, Thompson Gazelle, Zebra and Topi. You may occasionally sight black Rhino. In The Mara River Hippos play and Cross bask on the banks. The annual migration of a million Wildebeest follows the rains north. After exploring the park return to the Lodge.

Day 4: Masai Mara - Lake Nakuru

You will have a wakeup call as early as 0600am, you will have hot African Coffee or Tea and then proceed for Pre – morning game drive as from 06:30hrs for the next 3 hours until 0930hrs, then our driver will drive you back to the lodge where you will be served with full breakfast as you check out the camp to proceed to Lake Nakuru, if willing on this day you can as well visit the Masai Village for one hour and learn more of the Masai Culture, lunch will be in Narok town or ( Mai Mahiu) hot water after lunch proceed to Lake Nakuru and arriving early evening and if time allows you will have short game drive as you head to the Lake Lodge.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru - Back To Nairobi and transfer to Entebbe International Airport

The Bird Watchers’ Paradise the Lake is on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, lies the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park. Visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. Lake Nakuru National Park is ideal for bird watching, hiking, picnic and game drives. Breakfast will be served at around 0730am there after proceed for the game drive, you will have a chance to visit a unique sanctuary catering for a sizable number of the endangered White and Black rhinos as well as Rothschild giraffe.

Water bucks, predators such as the lion and leopard are common at the park. Also to be seen is a myriad different variety of bird life in and around the lake. Flamingos are also plenty at the lake. Leave for Nairobi late afternoon to catch your flight to Entebbe International Airport.

Day 6: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After your morning breakfast, begin your journey to Kibale Forest National Park. Drive south westwards to Fort Portal through verdant countryside passing through traditional homesteads, farms and Tea Estates. You will arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon. Check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Morning Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi swamp walk in the afternoon

After breakfast at your lodge, transfer to the starting point of your Chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest National Park which is reputed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. The most famous of its 13 species is the Chimpanzee, man’s closest relative. Kibale’s 1450 Chimpanzee represent Uganda’s largest population of this endangered primate. Kibale is also a home to the rare I’Hoest’s monkey. Other primates include the black and white Colobus, Blue monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, Olive baboon to mention but a few. So you will enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many others. Although chimp sightings are not guaranteed, visitors stand a good chance of hearing and seeing our distant cousins as they gloom and bond with one another.

After lunch, head to Bigodi for an optional afternoon swamp walk at an extra fee of $45 per person. Bigodi was established by a local development organization to protect the 4sq-km Magombe Swamp that’s home to around 200 species of birds (highlights include papyrus gonolek, white-winged warbler and great blue turaco). The highlight of this tour is catching a glimpse of the great blue turaco. The swamp is also good for spotting butterflies and primates, with 8 different species here, including grey-cheeked mangabey. The 2-3 hour guided walk is led by experienced local guides who interact with the guests and make the trip both enjoyable and exciting.

Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National NP and Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

After breakfast at your lodge before you proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain Range. Your expert driver guide will take you through the game park where you might spot some animals.
Upon arriving at your lodge, you will enjoy a hot lunch and later in the afternoon take a unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and this launch/cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous, with well over 550 resident species.

Day 9: Game Drive -Transfer to Bwindi

After your early morning breakfast, pack-up your Bags and for your final Game Drive to search for Wildlife and other wildlife before heading out of the Queen Elizabeth National Park and on to Bwindi. The drive takes you through the Switzerland of Africa area known as the Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving in the evening. Check into the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 10 Ultimate Gorilla Trekking

After an early breakfast depart to the starting point for briefing about your gorilla trekking adventure after which you will be led by experienced gorilla trackers on the slopes of the volcanoes. You will start from the site where the gorillas were encountered the day before and from here the gorilla tracking begins. Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. One of Africa’s major highlights is when you encounter these gentle apes. It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat rest, play and bond with their young ones. Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest, and discover their gorgeous natural habitual and the many species they share it with. You are allowed an hour with the gorillas before finally sloping down back to your lodge. If your trek was relatively short, you may have a guided nature walk around the lodge and the surrounding communities in the evening. Return to the lodge where you will enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers before getting a good night’s rest for tomorrow’s safari adventure.

You may opt for Gorilla Habituation on supplement of $900 per person – here you will be sure of meeting and spending enough time with the Gorillas.

Don’t forget to carry your rain gear, packed lunch, plenty of water, gloves, hat, and water proof bag for protection of your camera in case of rain

Day 11: Bwindi to Lake Mburo

After breakfast, at 08.00 hours you will travel to L. Mburo National Park, the smallest National Park of Uganda. Though being small, it has a lot offer!! Centered on a series of swamp-fringed lakes its birdlife is very rich. The green acacia woodland harbors wildlife like Zebra, warthog, Eland, Impala, not to mention the lake itself, which is home to schools of hippos and crocodiles!

Day 12: Walking Safari– Drive to Entebbe and Airport drop off

After breakfast have a safari walk under the escort of an armed ranger. The Kopjes are particularly interesting with the camouflage klipspringers and topis. Due to cattle herding in the area it is amusing to see zebra grazing alongside the long horned Ankole cattle peaceably. It is exciting to approach wildlife at such close range. Later drive to Entebbe You will arrive in Entebbe in the afternoon and wait for your departure Flight.
